About This Wine
The 2009 growing season followed a winter of average rainfall in the Temecula Valley wine country. However, periods of "extreme" cold during bud-break resulted in a slightly smaller than average crop with many varietals. A mild summer made for ideal growing conditions, leading to near perfect harvesting conditions relative to grape chemistry and berry size for the white varietals even though harvest took place approximately ten days earlier than usual. Red varietals ripened beautifully beginning in mid-September through mid-October and showed great concentration, structure and color.

Tasting Notes: Our 2009 White Merlot was allowed to macerate on the skins for a short period of time, picking up its light pink color while extracting delicate fruit characteristics. A long, cool fermentation led to a wine bursting with delicious aromas and flavors of fresh raspberries, cherries and strawberries.
Winemaker Notes: Harvested at approximately 24.7í Brix from Los Caballos Vineyard on September 6th and 7th, our White Merlot was allowed to macerate on the skins for just a few hours, picking up its light pink color while extracting fruit flavors from the skins. Fermentation was then completed at cool temperatures, preserving the fruitiness of the varietal.
Food Pairing: The fresh fruitiness of our 2009 White Merlot make this wine the ideal accompaniment to a wide variety of foods, including light meats and cheeses and Italian spicy dishes with tomato sauce.
