Leoness Cellars Shortens its Name

Temecula Wineries and Leoness Cellars White Merlot
TEMECULA, CA – Leonesse Cellars, an award-winning Temecula winery founded 8 years ago, is shortening its name.

Starting earlier this year and continuing through December, the winery will gradually drop the final “e” to its name. By the end of the year the winery will complete the transition to Leoness Cellars.

Leoness, which was the name used in Arthurian Legend, meaning “village of dreams", will continue to provide its guests the highest quality wines, innovative food, memorable wine country weddings, and the ultimate Wine Country experience.

One thing that will change however, is that Leoness will now have one less letter in its name. Starting with the release of the 2010 White Merlot earlier this year, all of the labels on new wine releases will reflect the new name. Winery signage, collateral materials and web site will also be modified to the shorter name.

“Over the years we discovered that some people had trouble pronouncing our name and we wanted to simplify the process,” said Rebaux Steyn, General Manager. “We also wanted to avoid any confusion there may have been over the pronunciation of our name.”

Temecula Winery Restaurant at Leoness
This past summer the winery opened The Restaurant at Leoness, a great way to enjoy vibrant, fresh, Italian and French provincial cooking in a spectacular al fresco setting.

The Restaurant at Leoness will offer visitors to the winery a wide selection of appetizers that includes artisan salads and paninis and a handful of entrees that are ideal for lunch or dinner Friday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The 3,800 -square-foot restaurant has stunning vineyard and mountain views that remind Chef Daragh Matheson of Northern Italy and Southern France. It adjoins the tasting room and has a climate-controlled dining area that seats 125 people.

Leoness Cellars is nestled in the rolling hills and vineyards in the southern part of Temecula's Wine Country. Located on The De Portola Wine Trail, it provides an opportunity to enjoy the less traveled winery roads, spectacular views and the serenity of Wine Country.

Long time friends and Temecula farmers, Mike Rennie and Gary Winder founded the winery in 2003.
Located at 38311 DePortola Road, about 15 minutes east of the 15 Freeway in Temecula, the Leoness Cellars' tasting room is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Private tours are available 7 days a week and are conducted by reservation only: host email or call 951-302-7601 ex.125
